Lulu’s

Lulu’s restaurant is located on 956 St. Mary’s Road. This colorful building catches the eye of the diner in search of a tasty meal instead of the usual burger and fries.

When you enter the premises, you will be surprised by the lively décor welcoming you. The atmosphere is both cozy and refined as you have the choice between comfortable booths and refined tablecloth covered tables with an added fancy touch of linen napkins. Souvenirs from all over the world accentuate the link to the world cuisine offered by this establishment.

Now let’s tickle your palate! Their menu teases your taste buds with a delightful range of tasty dishes, which come from all over the world, from Mexico to Malaysia via Cape Town, Africa.

Everyone can find something to satisfy their appetite at Lulu’s. Vegetarians can enjoy a daily soup as well as a variety of appetizers, lunch and dinner entrées. People on the lookout for something spicy have a selection of various sauces and chutneys available that range from piquant to fiery.

People looking for healthier choices can enjoy tasty cuisine that is solely cooked in either olive oil or butter. No food is deep fried! While using a variety of herbs and spices, salt level is quite low as the owner believes in a low sodium cuisine.

For the connoisseur that likes to enhance the flavor of the delicacies on his plate by enjoying a glass of wine, there is a wide selection of wines that have been especially selected to compliment their cuisine.

If you like to enjoy something “different”, I suggest that you peek at their menu. You will be delighted to discover a variety of delicacies including: samosas, conchiglie, frikkadels, quiches and so much more.

Once you taste Lulu’s cuisine, your mouth will start watering just thinking of their menu, ranging from beverages, to desserts, appetizers to entrees. While their prices can seem a bit high at times, you will soon find that each bite is worth its gold.

At last, but not the least, there is their service. It is not only fast and friendly but it has its personal touch to it as the Lulu herself (Louise Briskie - deBeer) and Faiz deBeer ensure that every detail is taken care of so you enjoy your visit from the first sip to the last bite.

Another great option they offer customers is their catering services.

I, myself, have enjoyed their cuisine twice since their opening in the fall 2006. I must say that each time was a delight and that I am already looking forward to my next visit, which is why Winnipeg-Guide is giving 4 out of 5 stars to Lulu’s restaurant.

If you ever have the opportunity to be in Winnipeg or near by their establishment around lunch or dinner time, make your taste buds a favor and visit Lulu’s.
